So I finally got a web domain and I'm really looking forward to putting my masterpieces *cough* online! For anyone interested its www.joeypie.com, go and bask in it's magnificence...
On a fairly unrelated topic, Im really looking forward to the new editorial brief we got given today. I love magazine design and the brief seems pretty open to creative exploration so it should be a really good note to finish the term on. Sadly there is wayfinding to finish before editorial can be done, frankly Im not enjoying wayfinding - an experience made even more trying by certain shopping centers hell bent on stopping me taking photos inside.
So I found the bookmarking site that is Del.icio.us, which I have to say Im pretty impressed with. I've some really cool sites by just randomly trawling through some of the bookmarked pages ( some of which can be seen under my bookmarks http://del.icio.us/joey_t ).
God do I hate the end of term struggle, with all the stress and struggle of trying to meet what seems like 1000's of deadlines! Ok I exaggerate, I dont have a big problem with meeting deadlines, what I do have an issue with are the printers at college. If it's possible to loath a inanimate object, then I loath them. Particularly the graphics printer - surely a course that requires so much printing could have a printer that actually PRINTS?! You would think so, but no.
I'm starting to believe that printer is deliberately trying to make me cry.
every ppd lesson we have I leave thinking 'I really feel like writing some form of blog now' and then I forget and go do something silly like playing with a widget on my mac (specifically the Adlib one...so, so much fun...). I've been reading some of my class mate's (and Andy's) blogs for some sort of inspiration but I still feel as though its a forced exercise that I do more because I feel I should rather than out of any real desire to do so. Having said this I much more of a doodle-er- so in the spirit of that, Im just gonna upload those.
So Im still liking my mac, its still in one piece and works well, it gets spacky when I play my ipod off it though. Wish I had the serial number for cs3 so it would stop pestering me with the dialogue box every time i open up illustrator or ps.
Everyones so antisocial since we got our macs!
I hate writing blogs....
So I bought a really nicer sticker thing to protect my laptop (although how much protection a thin layer vinyl offers is debatable...) with an illustration by Nanami Cowdroy, a designer who uses mainly ink and pencil. I really like her style of work as it makes a nice change from all the generic vector art that seems to crowd the design scene.
